Mr. Christian Bayly, B.Ed.; M.A.

Mr. Bayly is the Principal of Yip’s Collegiate School. He graduated with a teaching degree in 2003 and holds a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. He has teaching specialist qualifications in both Special Education and ESL teaching. He was an Elementary School Principal for 10 years and has been a Secondary School Principal since 2013. Christian has developed extensive online teaching programs for the secondary level and he has over 16 years of experience teaching ESL to students from China and around the world.

Mr. Jason Krell, B.Sc.; M.Sc.; MBA

Jason is a passionate educator who has led The Study Academy to become one of Toronto’s most celebrated progressive schools, known for its outstanding work with twice-exceptional (2e) learners and having built a sterling reputation in skillfully blending high standards and personalized supports in each classroom. Jason brings a fulsome background as a research scholar, educator, entrepreneur, and executive to his role as Principal, having completed extensive research for the International Olympic Committee and Adidas, worked as a secondary teacher in addition to curriculum consultant and sessional lecturer at the University of Calgary, ran a successful small educational business, and sat as board member for Karate Kids Canada and Crest Swimming. Jason’s current role at TSA is focussed on Continuous Improvement Planning and building new channels for stakeholder inputs to support decision-making processes that improve educational outcomes. This developmental work is being accomplished in pursuit of accreditation with AdvancEd.

Jason is an active and long-standing member of the International Mind, Brain, and Education Society and has most recently presented research at the 2018 biennial conference on the topic of Neurofeedback in the classroom. Further, Jason leads an educationally-focussed research team at TSA which had a paper published in November 2019 in the peer-reviewed journal Mind, Brain, and Education.

Sara MacDonald, B.Ed.; M.Ed.

Ms. Sara MacDonald is an enthusiastic educator who has worked in the private sector for over a decade. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor in Education in 2004 and recently completed her Professional Masters of Education from Queens University, specializing in innovative Classroom and Assessment Practices. Sara began her education in the Social Service Worker field and has long been passionate about student well-being and success. Currently Ms. MacDonald is the Principal of Lynn-Rose Heights Elementary School and Lynn-Rose College Secondary School, both authorized International Baccalaureate Programmes. Sara has worked collaboratively over the years with her colleagues to develop, implement and teach the Primary Years and Middle Years Programme of IB; furthering her knowledge of inquiry based learning. Ms. MacDonald continues to strive for excellence in education, fostering an atmosphere where communication, critical thinking, inquiry, collaboration and interpersonal skills are at the forefront for both students and faculty.

Justice Marvin Zuker

The Hon. Justice Marvin A. Zuker was appointed a Judge of the Ontario Court of Justice in 1978. He retired from the Bench in December, 2016. He holds the rank of Associate Professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto where he has taught Education Law since 1981. He is the author and co-author of multiple publications including books and articles in the areas of education law, and women’s and children’s rights. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Bloorview School Authority in 2013.
